Inspired by the success of the CSR Day at the ITB Berlin Convention, ITB Asia will also dedicate a whole conference day to Corporate Social Responsibility in Tourism. CSR is an overarching concept for sustainable corporate development. Responsibility is manifold, various subjects related to economically, social-ethnically & environmentally responsible tourism will be addressed.

NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC WORLD LEGACY AWARDS – FINALISTS ANNOUNCEMENT IN PARTNERSHIP WITH ITB

Join sustainable tourism expert and Editor at Large for National Geographic Traveler, Costas Christ, for this exciting first time announcement of the 15 Finalists of the new National Geographic World Legacy Awards. This informative session includes interviews and discussions on what it takes to be a leader in sustainable tourism best practices, showcasing the travel companies, organizations and destinations that are driving the positive transformation of the global tourism industry. The five award categories are:  Earth Changers – Recognizing cutting edge leadership in environmentally friendly business practices; Sense of Place -  Recognizing excellence in enhancing cultural authenticity; Conserving the Natural World – Recognizing outstanding support for the preservation of nature; Engaging Communities – Recognizing economic and social benefits that improve local livelihoods; and Destination Leadership – Including protection of cultural and natural heritage and educating travelers on responsible tourism. A Finalist Press Conference and light refreshments will immediately follow. Winners will be announced during an award ceremony and cocktail reception at ITB Berlin.
