Media Updates on Desaru Coast

One of Malaysia’s most anticipated tourism developments will be showcased at the ITB Asia from 19 to 21 October 2016. Developed by Themed Attractions Resorts & Hotels (TAR&H), the project spans over 3,900 acres along a pristine 17km beachfront facing the South China Sea.

The first phase of development, which includes The Els Club Desaru Coast The Ocean will be launched in September 2016. The Troon-managed property will feature The Ocean, a 27-hole course designed by Ernie Els, as well as a second 18-hole golf course, The Valley, designed by Els’ friend and fellow Major Champion, Vijay Singh. In addition, the golf development will be home to a stunning clubhouse featuring the Big Easy Bar & Grill; the first of its kind in Asia, and a relaxed terrace café, 261, where golfers can enjoy the peaceful atmosphere and views of the course. The resort will also include the Els Performance Golf Academy, a state-of-the-art practice facility, including a par-3 course and a series of practice tees and short game areas.

The development will also be bringing in some globally renowned hotels and resorts such as Aman Resorts & Villas, The Westin Desaru Resort, Anantara Desaru Resort, and A Branded Themed Family Resort. Featuring one of the world’s largest wave pools, Desaru Coast Adventure Water Park is set against the backdrop of a natural Kampung-themed surrounding. The corporate sector will also enjoy the Desaru Coast Conference Centre, a modern-style development, located adjacent to The Westin Desaru Resort. In addition, a waterfront landscaped retail and lifestyle village located in the heart of Desaru Coast, will be offering exciting retail, restaurants, cafes and entertainment outlets as the central hub of Desaru Coast.
